Cindy Ludwig is a professional dog trainer based in Dubuque, Iowa. She is a graduate and Certified Training Partner (certified clicker trainer) of the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior and holds a bachelor's degree in (natural) science from the University of Findlay, a diploma in professional nursing from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio, a master's degree in higher and adult education from the University of Missouri and has completed graduate education in animal learning and behavior (including wolf ethology), dog biology and pet nutrition.

Prior to starting her own dog training business, Ms. Ludwig worked in the medical field, primarily as a certified critical care registered nurse, and later in the areas of staff development, compliance, quality improvement, safety and risk management.

Ms. Ludwig has been teaching and writing for 40 years and has been published in a variety of magazines, newspapers, and peer-reviewed journals as well as being a featured writer on various websites and guest on podcasts. She maintains an active Facebook page for her business, Canine Connection LLC where she posts professional dog training tips and keeps readers up to date on current news related to dogs.

Ms. Ludwig specializes in clicker training and is a Field Representative for Paws With a Cause, an organization that trains and places assistance (service) dogs nationwide.

She started the first therapy dog program in the world that requires dog candidates to be trained using force-free methods and evaluators to demonstrate a commitment to force-free training.

Ms. Ludwig gives talks on child safety around dogs, bite prevention, clicker training and service dogs. She also consults with rescue organizations to help dogs with aggression and other behavior issues.
